Located in the heart of the picturesque town of Altea, Nomad Hotel & Spa is much more than accommodation: it is an experience that blends art, wellness, gastronomy, and hospitality, paying tribute to the light and vernacular architecture. Inspired by the famous blue and white dome of the Church of Our Lady of Consuelo, the hotel combines contemporary elegance with the traditional spirit of Altea.
Sustainable design: True to our values of sustainability, the project stems from the reconstruction of an original house where the original facade has been respected, and where the original tiles have been reused on the balconies. Clad almost entirely in chukum (a material from the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, this material derived from the cactus is waterproof and ecological). Every corner of the hotel is carefully designed with references to the Mediterranean style: handmade clay tiles, natural materials and a colour palette that evokes the sea, the sky and the whitewashed facades of the old town. The organic textures and artistic details refer to the architecture of the church, an unmistakable symbol of Altea, visible from some corners of the hotel.
The hotel offers 22 rooms, each with a unique style. Some feature textile art, original pieces recovered from brocantes, or one-of-a-kind items from various countries. Some units (the Nomad Junior Suites category) offer large bathtubs with views of the historic old town, the mountains, or the sea.
The aim was to design purposeful spaces, eliminating excess and focusing on the essence of the place: lighting (including handcrafted pieces from Tunisia), materials and textures (originating from India or Morocco), as well as the colors of the church dome: blue, white, and terracotta, which serve as the backbone of the project, inviting guests to appreciate even more this Mediterranean village.

These rooms highlight their spacious, custom-made bathtubs in chukum, a sustainable material from the Mayan region of Yucatán, along with a soft color palette, organic materials, and a carefully selected collection of artisanal pieces, such as rugs from Morocco or India.
Some of these units feature a lounge area with comfortable sofas that can be converted into a bed. From their balcony or large window, guests can enjoy charming views of the old town of Altea or the interior courtyard, our oasis, depending on their location. The elegant and sustainable furniture combines noble woods, linen fabrics, and decorative elements brought from different corners of the world, creating a warm and genuine atmosphere.

On the lower level, you'll find the bedroom, featuring original wooden beams, custom-made handcrafted elements, and large windows with views of the sea and the Sierra de Bernia, filling the space with natural light.
A desk and carefully selected decorative details create an ideal atmosphere for relaxation or reading. The upper level, accessed by an interior designer staircase, features a terrace with a bathtub and 360-degree views of the entire historic town, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Sierra de Bernia.
