At Nomad Hotel Collection we believe that travelling and discovering the world also means taking care of it. It is under this conviction that Nomad Cares, our sustainability and corporate social responsibility platform, was born, designed to generate a positive impact on both the environment and local communities.
Our hotels are built and operated according to the principles of bio-architecture, integrating respectfully with the natural and cultural environment. We use local and sustainable materials such as lime, mud, local woods and stones, and the legendary chukum, we prioritise energy efficiency and we design spaces that favour the connection with nature.
Collaboration with artisans and producers to boost the local economy. We collaborate with local family projects: we sponsor beehives on the Montgo mountain in Javea, we consume local artisan honey such as that produced by ‘El Serralet’, and we use locally produced oils such as Oligarum, which is produced in small quantities on family land in Javea. All the wickerwork in the rooms is made in Pedreguer. We collaborate with local wineries to organise visits to their facilities: Finca Mont Roig,
Social and cultural projects that preserve the identity of each destination. We are sponsoring partners of the Jardin de l'Albarda in Pedreguer, a sustainable Mediterranean garden that promotes biodiversity and the conservation of autochthonous flora and fauna. We promote young artists with the dissemination of their work in our spaces such as the permanent exhibition ‘Weaving stories’ currently in the hotel Nomad Altea.
Natural, recycled and sustainable materials have been used in most of the construction and equipment. Efficient insulation systems have been implemented to minimise energy consumption and improve sustainability. Most of the decorative items have been handmade and sourced from artisans around the world.
We use energy-efficient products, individual light switches in each room, double glazing, motion detectors in corridors and a climate-controlled air conditioning system.
We use ecological products with pre-set dosages for efficient use. Biodegradable, eco-certified and organic products are offered in the rooms.
We follow a philosophy of consumption of Km 0 products. We treat and bottle our own NOMAD water. We prioritise products of local and national origin. In addition, we offer our customers the possibility to contribute by choosing not to change their towels every day. We also have double cistern systems to save water.
